I was under the impression that Trump launched this war to have a pretense to give money to the weapons industry. Because more weapons -> higher profit -> higher stock valuations, and as we all know, Everything’s Fine as long as the Dow Jones is over 50k.

Like, literally anything that happens makes the economy go up, as long as anything happens at all. When you build schools, the economy goes up, because somebody has to build these schools. When you build rail network, economy goes up. When you start a war and produce lots of weapons, economy goes up.

I wonder why the economy is always made to go up in ways that hurt people, instead of ways that, you know, actually help people.

Trump launched this war to have a pretense to give money to the weapons industry

Lol, like any US president needs justification for that ever. I mean it’s a geopolitical event and the military-industrial complex certainly is one of the major lobby groups pushing for this (or any) confrontation, not disputing that.

But the immediate reason for Trump seems to be the (seemingly working) distraction from the escalating Epstein scandal. He already learned that war and the resulting market volatility is a great way to “flood the zone with shit” when he attacked Iran last year, and that being his primary objective also neatly accounts for the apparent lack of an exit strategy and clearly defined war goals.

Again, not saying it’s the only reason why this war is happening in general, but probably the main one to Trump anyway. Which Warren seems to be confirming with her testimony here, saying there is simply no coherent reason presented for it even under secrecy.

Imagine giving standing applause to your political opponent for genociding millions for overthrowing the evil regime ™ only to be desperately less down when you find out that he’s gonna fuck it up as usual.

At this point it might be better if the US goes in without a plan as having one didn’t seem to work out the last 50+ military conflicts.

The story keeps changing because they don’t want to admit that this was done to touch off Armageddon, and bring on The Rapture. The soldiers were specifically told that by their commander. The reason is literally “because God told us to.”

At least 200 soldiers have filed formal complaints.

Sen. Angus King, the independent from Maine, said it’s “very disturbing” that Trump took the U.S. to war because Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to bomb Iran. Past U.S. presidents, he said, “have consistently said, ‘No.’”

Things are looking up… for Iran.

I am not asking for much, I just want the US to lose to Iran even more decisively and quickly than it lost to Afghanistan, and for Tel Aviv to look like Rafah today.

“You are right to be worried, the Trump administration has no plan in Iran,” Warren said

Ah, so it’s much better than I thought on one side.
Question is, how much of a plan does Iran have?

I mean, how many empires have passed through Persia, through that area? How many conflicts has that civilization endured? I’m not trying to hype myself up but, like, Iranians are fighting in home turf with thousands of years of military knowledge of their own terrain, against a hegemon that’s mobilized from half way across the globe. They must have something up their sleevse

There’s been a massive bot campaign across social media to convince people that US and Israel are winning big time.

Anyone that can put 2 and 2 together knows it’s not true. But the propaganda is necessary, because that’s all the US has left.

Neoliberalism has hollowed out the US. It cannot keep up with economies not focused on maximizing profits.

Also, imagine, if Iran is doing this to the US, what would China do. They could probably destroy all of NATO in less than a month if they wanted.

I always think about the millennium challenge where the USA Armed forces came together to run a test, the USA’s military vs Iran, and Iran decimated the USA so much they had to stop the test, change the rules son the USA has to win, and then declared victory for the USA

Ok I’ve never heard of this before but omfg it wasn’t even the US military vs a unified Iran, it was one faction in Iran/Iraq! Though we’d have to add a few things to make it more accurate like US domestic unrest, folks in the US Navy sabotaging their own ship’s plumbing and having an addled pedo in charge. What could the modeling have predicted if they’d just thought ahead when planning the test?

I think the nastier stuff won’t happen until Iran is in a really bad situation. Maybe they could fire an advanced missile and strike Israel’s Dimona nuclear facility or carry out drone attacks inside the US. It’s easy to sneak drones around and assemble them, so I think we can expect attacks far away from the battlefield.

One thing I’ll disagree with is this idea that sleeper cells will appear from no-where and massacre people at bars and nightclubs. It doesn’t seem like it’s Iran’s style - they’d rather hit a military base with a drone.

Remember that while Iran’s command structure is ruined, they can still command operations globally through their intelligence officers.

It’s already obvious they don’t need congress to tell them what to do. These laws and constitutions are meant to control the rest of us, it does not apply to them. The sooner you understand this, the more their actions start to make sense.

I was under the impression that he declared war on brown people with no fucking plan whatsoever because he’s racist, under the false impression that being at war means he can stay in office no matter what (despite his entire life being filled with counterexamples), and him trying to distract from his close ties with and probable crimes as a child rapist.

I actually don’t know how it could be worse

Yeah, Zelensky banned opposition parties and suspended elections, justifying it with the war, so objectively the war is the only thing that keeps him in the office as his term is long gone.
