Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office by police investigating the former prince’s dealings with the convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Photographs of unmarked police cars and plainclothes officers at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate just after 8am were published on Thursday.
A statement from Thames Valley police said: “We have today (19/2) arrested a man in his 60s from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The man remains in police custody at this time.”
The arrest came as Mountbatten-Windsor celebrated his 66th birthday at home.
Police had been assessing allegations that Mountbatten-Windsor – formerly known as Prince Andrew – shared sensitive information with the billionaire child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein when he was a UK trade envoy.
Oliver Wright, Thames Valley Police’s assistant chief constable, said: “Following a thorough assessment, we have now opened an investigation into this allegation of misconduct in public office.”
Does this mean he will have to commit suicide to stop himself spilling the beans on the other monsters?
They’re being much more serious about this than when it was “just” about kids. I suppose threatening money and power is what gets you arrested. Similar to the way Epstein was arrested and then murdered by Trump’s order.
I think treason has always been treated more seriously than anything else. If Andrew has also been dealing in national secrets then it is more serious.
That doesn’t reduce the seriousness of any sex crimes. They should also be being investigated, but him being arrested for something else doesn’t mean they’re not.

There’s something poetic about a Windsor being called by his citizen name while being arrested. I hope the entire family of “royal” nonces get a proper Citizen Louis Capet treatment.
I feel somewhat the opposite way. The royal family should not be able to last minute distance themselves from him when they did everything possible to keep this from coming out and he undoubtedly used his position of privilege and it was a factor in the abuse. He should be tied to the royal family and they should not be getting a pass. He’s a pedo prince and should be acknowledged as such, though I know technically the royal family made some changes VERY recently.
It was a not-so-subtle reference to how King Louis XVI was referred to as Citoyen Louis Capet, with a surname being a indicator of loss of status, after being arrested and sent to the guillotine. It’s a call for the whole Windsor monarchy to be abolished by execution. That includes Charles.
Past transgressions aside, British peerage should be abolished and the ex-royals stripped of the majority capital, including land.
Yes, totally agree. I’m not British, and I recognize Americans do a lot of telling other countries what they should do, but I feel like that really is the best move.
