Obligatory reminder that the USA has been doing often genocidal colonialism and imperialism since the very beginning and that it was a huge inspiration for fascist Germany.
E.g. Manifest Destiny, which shaped Generalplan Ost, the racial discrimination and segregation laws.
Also US capitalists like Henry Ford, who got the highest award possible for foreigners by Hitler himself, funded German industry and their war machine…
They tried to appease Hitler, too. That’s all I’m gonna say…
People always bring up appeasement, but it is important to mention that documents were later released that paint a more nuanced picture.
The heads of Britain’s armed forces consistently warned Chamberlain that Britain was too weak to fight, which is one significant reason he sought to appease Hitler in Munich. For example, the RAF was only beginning to receive the more modern Hurricanes and Spitfires which would help it gain air supremacy after the Battle of Britain. The crucial radar network Britain was building, was also only ready in 1939. The Royal Navy was also largely unprepared, many ships lack anti-aircraft defenses. The army also didn’t have enough tanks.
Also, appeasement was very popular at the time. The British public needed time to be convinced that war was inevitable. Appeasement allowed Chamberlain to convince the war weary British public that he had tried his best to avoid war.
Let’s also not forget the British entered the war in 1939. The US and USSR only entered in 1941 and only after being attacked.
And the Munich agreement wasn’t like the Molotov-Ribbentrop agreement, which resulted in Germany gaining massive amounts of crucial raw minerals and food. Resources the nazis would go on to use in their invasion of the Soviet Union. I know mentioning that won’t make me popular with some. But that was really fucking stupid.
Worse yet are the brits who think we’re better than the US and think theyre crazy. and like, sure. But, we literally colonised the states and started half this shit. Not to mention that we’d do exactly the same given half the chance, influence and resources.
When America coughs we catch the cold.
Edit: To be clear: i’m very well aware we colonised practically half the world too, and left unwavering damage in our wake. Even more recently too. My point is just, I feel like the UK has successfully whitewashed ourselves from the conversation about colonialism sometimes and it really frustrates me.
Y’all are literally helping currently by seizing Venezuelan oil tankers for the USA too.
But, we literally colonised the states and started half this shit.
Brits were fucking around in India, blowing dissidents apart with cannons this time last century. They were financing and profiteering off South African apartheid fifty years ago. They helped us invade Iraq under Bush. They’re participating in the Gaza Genocide right now.
This isn’t new.
Don’t worry comrade, the situation will be closely monitored!
The U.S. education system is the best in the world.
Best at what?
According to who?
*to whom
/US educated so could be wrong
If think you are correct. Thanks.
In my defense, English is my third language and it’s getting rusty. Partly why I’m on here tbh.
Best at what?
Vibes, obviously
According to who?

Best at football
You didn’t even qualify for the World Cup in 2014.

Vibes. There’s a reason why the U.S. has so many International students.
Additionally, the low test scores are because the U.S. gives a relatively equal education to every child. Other countries just end up weeding bad students out and they don’t take the tests.

uh…this isn’t exactly accurate anymore lol. International enrollment has fallen off a cliff. I dunno if numbers have been officially released yet, but chatting with my friends in admissions offices for some pretty big universities, they’re seeing reductions of 70-80%
Yeah :(
“Normally” there are a lot.
There’s a reason why the U.S. has so many International students.
Are you suggesting that US universities having many international students, means US education is the best in the world?
Given only 16% of Harvard students are international, but 43% of Oxford students are international, does this mean than that Oxford is almost 3 times better than Harvard?
the low test scores
Which test?
Other countries just end up weeding bad students out
According to whom?
Interesting that the people who say that are unanimously from the states with the worst education.
