It’s not so much the furry porn as much as it’s the dudes I don’t want to see. Lemmy could use some mandatory tags in their NSFW communities. Like some dude in a strap-on instance showing off his wiener isn’t what I’m hoping for when I click through that stuff.
I browse all federated communities almost exclusively…I’ve never seen any wiener-centric porn.

I’ve been here a couple months and have never seen furry porn here or elsewhere. Doesn’t sound like my vibe but also doesn’t sound traumatic to see or anything.
This is what I missed from reddit when they removed nsfw from all
I also did not like porn on my feed but. Nsfw memes are somewhat ok. So i just block all porn communities. Now with very little work my feed is entirely clean of porn.
Or just youse Memmy, it blocks all porn communities. Although tbf I‘d like it to not do that ;)
As a Memmy user I’d just like to clarify that it’s only by choice! A simple slider in the settings menu can either blur/unblur or hide/unhide NSFW posts
Please enlighten me! I‘ve allowed everything, but I can‘t find communities such as lemmynsfw.world
Go to settings>content>nsfw content and the sliders should be right there. As far as I know though this only effects what you see through the app, you need to make sure that you have nsfw enabled on your home instance via the web too. There’s a chance you may even be a user of an instance that doesn’t federate with NSFW instances so I can only really get you as far as the Memmy settings confidently
And it works really well! So I can get distracted at work, but not **too distracted
I’d like to give another Memmy shoutout. It’s currently our best in show Lemmy app on iOS akin to Sync for Lemmy on Android.
I live dangerously. I have it set to show NSFW and to not blur it in my feed. Give me all of Lemmy unfiltered.
The only reason I don’t is so when I’m out in public people don’t see porn on my phone.

I kinda wish there was a tag that let you know WHY something was NSFW so you can make a more educated decision. Is it nudity or gore…?
You can always just look at what community it’s from. 99% guarantee you’ll figure out if it’s porn or not
I seem to remember a time on reddit where porn was NSFW and gore was NSFL (L being life or lunch depending on who you asked). Can we bring this back?
I remember people constantly asking for that to be a feature on Reddit, but I don’t believe it was ever implemented.
I don’t know about official implementation but if you search for “reddit NSFL” you’ll see it was used a bit.
Mastodon does this super well. Pictures are marked as Sensitive, not NSFW, and get blurred.
Then you write what makes the picture sensitive, and a little warning with this explanation appears to other users before they decide to click or not to unblur it.
And then there’s those times when you realize “oh, that’s why…” and you hastily scroll down to hide it forever.

I’m on lemmy.ml and have not yet seen a NSFW post on All. Not that I care about it (I really dont use it for porn), but I’m curious why that is? Is it because ml is not feterated why instances where this content is mostly posted?

Yeah I’m on .ml too and it’s not federated with NSFW instances, not bothered by it much and actually kinda prefer it all being under my alt on another instance
