Someone shoots a CEO, another sets a warehouse on fire due to low wages, this dude sets fire to a gate of a billionaire… What will the next thing be?

[…] allegedly throwing an improvised incendiary device that ignited part of an exterior gate before fleeing the scene on foot.

The suspect was ultimately located about an hour later near OpenAI’s headquarters, roughly 4.8 kilometres (three miles) away, where he was allegedly threatening to set the building on fire.

ngl disappointing performance. If you’re going to do an adventurism by yourself, which I generally don’t advocate for tactical reasons, then at least make it worth the prison time.

Ohh nice, I suggested this a few months ago to target billionaires. Molotovs are very easy to make.

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the Inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in The name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of Darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost Children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious Anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”. - Ezekiel 25:17, Pulp Fiction

Do you think actions like this ultimately scare people away from the left causing people to think leftists are unreasonably unlawful and violent?

Who said this person was on the “left”? In any case, who cares. I don’t care about winning people over to the “left”. I’m a communist, and history has shown that proletarian revolutions aren’t primarily composed of politically active “leftists”, socialists, etc. Revolutions are made by working class people acting out of self-interest, whether or not they’ve attained a socialist/communist consciousness (and often times, they haven’t).

Maybe. But, it will happen nonetheless if the filthy rich don’t stop their march.

Also, the people who feign sympathy for the filthy rich are suffering under the delusion that they are as rich, or will be someday. People with $50 million don’t know which side of the wall they’re on.

Laws in capitalist countries are written to protect private property and capital. With ICE raids killing hundreds of innocent people, violating the law does not look like a big deal.

Nah I think we’re past the point where ahitloads of regular people understand that violence isn’t always unreasonable, as the positive reactions to these stories show

Yeah, it’s not going to do wonders for polarisation. But on the whole, you do hope that people realise it’s a spectrum. Ie, not everyone on the left is a violent terrorist, not everyone on the right is a genocidal racist, and that echo chambers are very much a thing.
