IMO, it is. Trump wants a “win” that he can bullshit about. Ukraine won’t give up territory (understandable) and Europe is backing Ukraine and freezing assets outside the reach of the US [1]

Trump is clueless. Not sure he can even point out Ukraine on a map. Not sure any of his bitches can either.

Euroclear warned that without clear legal ownership structures and enforceable rights, investor confidence could be undermined, potentially disrupting broader European capital flows.

both euroclear and russia have promised to bring up legal action ensuring that this economic nightmare comes to pass and this combined w their recent capitulations to trump goes to show how much the eu will cut off its nose to spite its face to the detriment of its future.

Probably, but it’s probably also a good sign of impending peace that the Ukranian government is signaling willingness to agree to anything at all.

p sure that’s the gamble Ukraine is taking here. their assumption is that Russia won’t, but they don’t want to seem like they’re the ones holding up an end to the war.

I mean if that’s the game plan then they’re doing it backwards given that Ukraine and the Europeans already rejected the US 28 point plan, while Russia just slow walked it saying they’d consider it as a basis for negotiation. It’s the Ukrainians who look intransigent here, not the Russians. Meanwhile, the conditions on the front continue to deteriorate and Russia’s position in the negotiation continues to get stronger.
