The mayor-elect chastised a synagogue that hosted an event promoting migration to Israel and settlements in occupied territories. His stance further tested his strained relationship with pro-Israel Jews.

Mr. Mamdani, the mayor-elect, responded the next day, saying through a spokeswoman that he “discouraged the language” used at the protest and that New Yorkers must be “free to enter a house of worship without intimidation.”

But it was what he said next that alarmed some Jewish leaders: He chastised the synagogue, saying through his spokeswoman that “these sacred spaces should not be used to promote activities in violation of international law.”

If we can’t discuss breaking internal law in the synagogue, then where can we discuss breaking internal law???

Settler is too passive of a descriptor. Settlers went to war with and genocided Indigineous peoples to create the America of today. Leaving out the genocide / displacement part of the equation is intentionally reality warping / propagandizing.

The NYT has evidently decided its task is to undermine Mamdani steadily and gradually through the spin it puts on daily reports.

It’s not the quick death of an execution, its the slow death of a poison - the oligarchs who control the media companies knew they couldn’t beat him one-on-one, so they’re going to errode him using their tried-and-true method of propaganda, escalate the failures and minimise the successes.

    Seriously, fuck the NYT.

In a just world, these places would be forcibly shut down and the organisers prosecuted; they are literally conspiring to commit war crimes, unambiguously and undeniably.

Same energy as republicans investigating sen. Kelly & co. for telling the military not to follow illegal orders
