For me: noticed, even if it is not too cold, but too warm, I need a blanket to fall asleep. The weight of the blanket makes it more comfortable, I guess? 🛌
For those who need the weight of a blanket, they should make a loose chainmail blanket for hot days.
you are a good inventor to be honest. My idea, make it even heavier with lead balls 💀.
The limited edition luxury model is extra heavy already, because it’s made from gold.
I would totally buy a chainmail onesie
Still, it’s better with a blanket, it’s like saying the brain feels protected. Of course, I slept without a blanket, but for that you have to be incredibly tired, so much so that you won’t care where and how you sleep, even in a barn, as long as it is quiet and nothing disturbs.
Every summer I have to re-learn how to sleep without a blanket. I used to turn on the air conditioner so my room is cool enough to sleep with a blanket before I realized that’s dumb as hell.
No. Even in the summer during a heatwave I was sleeping with a 15 tog duvet because I need the weight, until I got a weighted blanket which is much more comfortable. I can fall asleep on the couch without a blanket though which is weird, just not in bed.
Do weighted blankets retain heat all? I love blankets, but it has been difficult to use anything more than a thin sheet (and even that is often stretching it) when it is crazy hot outside and the upstairs isn’t cooled well by the AC.
They seem pretty good for not trapping too much heat, but we have quite cool summers here so what I would consider an unbearably hot day is probably different to most people. I could comfortably sleep in it under 24°C, anything above that and I can’t sleep no matter what type of blanket I have anyway. There are cooling ones made of cotton that might work if you’re in a hotter climate but they cost a fair bit more.
I can sleep on the couch if I’m dressed in bed I’m usually just in underwear.
You have never visited a tropical country I presume.
nah weighted blanket not even enough i need to hug something
same
I can on couch but not bed.
I need it to sleep comfortably, but airconditioning is not common here so when it’s 28 degrees Celsius inside the blanket gets yeeted. Having all balcony doors open without really any light cover and sleeping on a bed without any cover feels very exposed. But at lest it makes it somewhat bearable. This is only like 3 days a year tho, I really try to avoid it
I can only sleep with a blanket too. If I not covered by a blanket the monsters will get me!
I need at least sheets that are thick enough not to let light through, not super thin sheets. It’s annoying in summer months. I need my feet covered because I’m paranoid about mosquitos though it’s rare for them to actually get inside and I need my head/eyes covered as well or it just doesn’t feel right, partly about light and muffling noise.
And for me it’s definitely a horizontal sleeping thing too. Propped up I can fall asleep while being only partially covered or hardly at all but horizontal I have to have it.
If a sheet counts as a blanket no. I need at least a sheet.
Up until my mid-twenties, yes. Lived in a tropical country and no A/C, just fans. I only started using a blanket when I finally lived in a place with A/C.
It’s really hard, but it’s been consistently like 90-95 degrees outside and I don’t have A/C. Kinda had to get used to sleeping with a fan blowing directly on me. I still miss my blanket though, as soon as the fall comes I will return to burrito.
I used to be able to and often did in the warmer months. These days, I need something covering my feet and lower legs. I’ll now sleep without any sort of blanket, except for three layers from my knees down.
