4·4 months agoI worked at a knock-off Apple Store in the PNW from 2009 to 2013 and I told this same line to MANY people. The thing about being an “Apple Specialist” is that we sold more than Apple did, including “aftermarket” RAM modules to do that upgrade on-site for customers, saving those customer money AND netting us more profit than if we had sold them the Apple SKU with more RAM. When Apple closed this loophole it was not just at the expense of end-users, but their channel partners too.

Plenty of evidence of mid-budget games that are hugely successful. “Indie” is now a pretty large and unhelpful term. Supergiant is a fairly large company, not just “a single guy” like in the case of Stardew Valley. Even Concerned Ape hired on a team for ongoing support and ports for Stardew. And Team Cherry may be small, but also not actually just 2 people like is the common understanding. And Astro Bot may be made by a fairly large studio owned by the biggest console platform owner but you couldn’t seriously call last year’s GOTY a “quadruple A game”. Hell, even Triple is generous.
I get the malaise and disappointment around the top 5 games all being like a decade old live service games that all make up ,ore than like 80% of the industry’s play time and revenue, but I’m pretty sure LocalThunk is feeling pretty good about their success right now. There are plenty of really great games that are not just bargain bin junk while also not being massive industry stompers like Fortnite.

nice! I bought this one like 15 years ago for like $20 from a guy in a mall parking lot, advertised as broken. it had like “University of Washington” written on it, so presumably he got it from a school several years before he sold it to me. Initially I wanted to gut it to make a fish tank, but i was lazy and also that was a stupid idea. Instead I fixed it and installed Mac OS Classic on it, as well as marathon.

I’ve been wanting a Saturn for a while now, but not yet! I usually play Saturn games on my MiSTer.
I’ve got 2 PS1’s, and the one most visible in this photo is an SCPH-1001 with the RCA jacks on the back. I haven’t modded it because I’ve got better ways to play backups of PS1 games and it’s not quite worth the effort. I have used TonyHax on it though, which does the job. the other PSOne is barely visible right next to it. I got it from an estate sale and it actually came with a modchip! So i can play backup discs on that one if i want.
i mean, the food is bad by several measures. But I agree that it’s just a normal bite for a guy who doesn’t want to deal with getting messy on camera. It probably tastes good.
