Humans are resistors. We just need to create a chain of people, and the more we add the more resistance the circuit will have too.

With a name like @redditcunts, this one is probably a troll. Just block them.
Honestly, for some software this is the answer. The other one with hackers is that it’s usually easier to trick an employee into giving you the master password than finding an obscure exploit in their codebase, though it does still happen.
The answer is clearly yes, though it’s a shame, I had hoped Lemmy would avoid spam posts for longer.
Most of that except for the last panel. I don’t think any of us would fight for Reddit.
Yeah, this happens a lot, especially when I’m tired. Luckily, I usually leave cues for myself so that I remember what I was doing.
I think it’s really cool here. The people have been mostly friendly, the communities I’m following are decently active, and new features are being added every day. I honestly have very few complaints.
Out of curiosity, what problems are you having with the drivers? I have a GTX 1070ti graphics card and the drivers for it have been ok on Linux, the integration hasn’t been as smooth as Windows but I haven’t had any problems.
Wefwef doesn’t pull it from the API, it attempts to sim your points to calculate your karma itself. However, it varies in its accuracy, I recently checked and it said my comment karma was 8.
I think that will improve over time. A lot of people here are fresh off Reddit’s burning ship. I think given a couple weeks people will settle in and Reddit will fade into the background.
For the companies, it’s usually a case of weighing how much adding the feature will cost vs. how much they’ll expand their market by adding it. For Fairphone, their whole schtick is that their phones are repairable and upgradeable, so in this case it’s that they’ve determined that there’s enough demand in the U.S. market to justify the cost of entry, as they’ve already added the features. In this case, the majority of people will probably not purchase a Fairphone, but that’s not their goal, they occupy a market niche.
Indeed. It also reduces the cost to do the repairs, which is good for everyone.
Theoretically, none, including the United States. In practice, all of them. They are all Capitalist nations, and under Capitalism companies weaponize their massive pool of wealth and resources to push for favorable laws. Thus, any nation with for-profit prisons will see those prison companies perform some type of lobbying.
You’re correct, of course, but these types of communities tend to be occupied by people outside of the mainstream who care more about these issues. Also, I think it’s important people have the freedom to repair the technology they own even if the majority of people will choose not to, having the ability is still important.
Thunder and wefwef are also pretty good. I really like the gesture controls on them though, so that may be biasing me a bit.
The quality of the posts being worse makes sense, I’m guessing some of the Reddit power users moved here and they were generating the majority of quality OC on Reddit.
They may never find out.
Don’t feel bad, red and black together are the fastest combination. Just add some red-painted flames over your black PC and it will outperform even supercomputers.
What if you get into an accident?
