Bit overblown given you need to be on windows, actively MITM attacked and manually updating Python via qbittorrent
Bf1??? How?
How do they avoid the subsequent bugs O3 tends to produce?
Nvme drive controllers already throttle at the storage level but the interface gets hot now, and client devices can’t negatiate slower interface speeds afaik
Nothing prevents you from making it remotely accessible with the password “password” either
Okay sure then you’re asking for trouble. You could also configure the word password as your password.
Management interface is only available locally
The management interface is only available with physical access
To be fair you need physical access
The threat model is stolen/hacked/“forgotten” password. 2FA in the password manager is probably fine
I use bitwarden
You have to pay for 2fa… try again
I then keep another, “higher security” dongle at home with more-sensitive keys.
Noted :)
Ah yes a “throw money at it” solution
What were Linus comments that precipitated this?
The rage comes from LF actions and Linus words. All they had to do was to say: Thank you people for your contribution but we have no other choice, this is the law. But they did quite the opposite and Linus showed his true ugly white western supremacy face for all to see. That is the cause of the rage.
I haven’t used veracrypt to encrypt linux system partitions. Does it do all the decryption in user space somehow?
I would assume because the whole model of encrypting your drives and installing bootloaders doesn’t blend well with the flatpak sandbox
Is global hotkey like push to talk in an app working when another is app is focussed?
