Editing my comment because I misunderstood your comment
Just like Reddit was back in the day.
I’m trying to figure out how this is a shitpost personally.
Unimaginable feet as well I’d bet! At least based on my drunk dancing abilities.
You got this! And congrats! Just remember to relax! I bet you’ll have a great time, but if any of those negative things happen don’t worry about it! You’ve proven you can get dates so it won’t be your last chance anyway. And who knows, they might have asd as well!
What other good things have been goin on for ya?
Neurotypical is the word you’re looking for. Where do you slot ADHD folks in the autism vs allism spectrum? Because if it’s the latter that’s not fair to those of us with adhd and if it’s the former then it’s neurodivergence which……already has a counterpart.
My point is autism is a defined thing. Allism is not having the thing. But my original comment still remains the use of allism generally comes with a negative connotation. Whether that’s part of the denotation makes no difference.
EDIT to add I’m an atheist. There is no word for me not being catholic though. I’m also not Baptist or Muslim. But I don’t need a descriptor for each one. Where you fall in the divergence spectrum is categorized but not falling in there already has a designation. Hope that clears up my point.
Can we not use the term allism please? It’s exclusively been used in my experience to draw a divide and not one that’s healthy.
Also this post and your last one are so ranty. It’s completely unproductive. And before I’m accused otherwise I’m diagnosed ASD….
That’s because it’s not an unpopular opinion. It’s you completely missing the point of the whole bear in the woods thing.
Can’t wait! This game a such a breath of fresh air from Ubisoft! I didn’t play the latest assassins creed game but this game was so much fun. Reminded me a bit of Metroid Dread.
That’s fair. I’ve had plenty of instances where that’s happened to me and making the mistake is embarrassing itself. I hope you don’t have my habit of mulling things like this over for days or even weeks.
One question to ask is are you sure they were making fun of you and there’s no way you misinterpreted it? As for whether to go or not I’d say don’t. It won’t be satisfying to you no matter the outcome. And if you’re wrong on the assessment of the situation you’re putting someone else into a very embarrassing and humiliating situation themselves. Not saying you are but it can be difficult to judge a situation especially given how our neurodivergence works.
I haven’t been on one of these in a very long time but when I was regularly using them I just treated every encounter like an experiment to see what might get a response. Nothing bad or crass but ranging from lighthearted, funny, etc, etc. anyways, it helped me get a better feel for how to do an opener and made further conversation a lot easier for me too.
That is just people without a condition trying to coop it for their own ends. It’s no different than when people say “I’m so OCD” when they like clean up a crumb. It’s not the most evil thing in the world but let’s not continue to perpetrate any kind of relation to counter culture or “other ways of thinking” and the actual condition people don’t choose and often struggle to deal with. Especially in a community dedicated to discussions around the latter.
Those people I see who falsely claim they are neurodivergent because it’s a popular thing now are so much more insulting and annoying than people who for instance say having ADHD must be like having super powers.
How does counter culture have any relation to actual neurological conditions. I think that’s the questions people are asking. This whole post is insulting and stupid to actual neurodivergent people.
Thank you for bringing some levity to this convo.
That’s not an open ecosystem, that’s just a yet to be closed and monetized system.
We know.
