Hi I’m Tim.
I’m AuDHD - officially diagnosed ADHD and self-diagnosed (for now) with ASD. I also suffer from a great deal of Imposter Syndrome.
Instead of Garuda I would suggest CachyOS. The best of Arch but made simpler for people that don’t want to customize everything.
The US district judge Vince Chhabria, in San Francisco, said in his decision on the Meta case that the authors had not presented enough evidence that the technology company’s AI would dilute the market for their work to show that its conduct was illegal under US copyright law.
Why is this not the same bar for people who got busted on Napster back in the day, or torrents more recently?
A KDE developer made a blog post on the 21st talking about X11 stats on KDE and the numbers show the majority are already on Wayland.
At this point in time, our telemetry says that a majority of Plasma users are already using the Wayland session. Currently 73% of Plasma 6 users who have turned on telemetry are using the Wayland session, and a little over 60% of all telemetry-activating users (including Plasma 5 users) are on Wayland.
Well from the bottom of the article apparently someone is looking to carry on with X11 and has started Xlibre (with what looks like TONS of new drama).
They are essentially doing the same as KDE, whose statement was linked in the article.
KDE
For now, the Plasma X11 session remains in maintenance mode. That means critical issues—like login failures or major regressions—will still be addressed. However, minor bugs are unlikely to get fixes unless funded, and new X11-specific features are off the table entirely.
VS
Gnome
First things first: Xorg isn’t being abandoned outright. It remains maintained and is receiving necessary security patches and bug fixes. However, active development has effectively halted, with most of its original contributors now focused on Wayland.
Edit - added Gnome quote effectively saying the same thing.
Who has time to sleep 12+ hrs a night!? That’s something I haven’t done since I was an early teen. I think by late teens I was probably sleeping 4-7hrs or so. Now my sleep is much worse and I get somewhere between 2-6hrs depending on the weather (I need a cool room or my sleep is basically the worst), and weekdays vs weekends.
I also have sleep apnea and will wake up with headaches/migraines if I don’t use my CPAP which also leads to nights of me feeling like I’m drowning. Yay!
My nemesis, choice paralysis, how you are the bane of my existence.
Indeed, I also do this with texts and voicemails. Then the shame and anxiety monster eats me and I either breakdown and read them or swipe them away and hope for the best.
Work emails I do better because it is my job at stake, but only just barely. Voicemails are 100% ignored though, and currently have 30 “missed calls” I’m never going to look at in the hope they vanish through the power of some outside force.
I think Ozzy is a good example of this, though maybe not as extreme as Silent.
Yeah I’m only playing balanced or whatever the middle/default difficult is. I have 263hrs as of right now and have really been enjoying it. And I’m doing Dark Urge so I’m missing a bunch of content just because of “bad decisions”, and the way I ended up in act 2 I also know I missed a bunch of content. I’m not even close to being done with Act 3 (I don’t think) and I’m already debating if I will do another playthrough afterwards, or play something else from my ever growing backlog. And I’ve never been a 100%'er and usually happy/lucky if I even finish it. 😂
Indeed, I often times will play for a few hours and find all sorts of cool things, but nothing that moves the story along.
Case in point, I have been playing BG3 for months a few hours here and there and I’m only in the beginning parts of Act 3. And before that I dumped probably 400hrs into Elden Ring, and then went back in for many, many more when the DLC came out.
A /64 block of IPv6 is 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 available IP addresses.
If they don’t have the IPv4 addresses they can’t. Could always ask about IPv6, have seen ISP’s give out more than you’d ever need for a home LAN (like a /64).
Edit - I should add, do make sure you have a setup firewall as you will no longer be “protected” by NAT and all the IPv6 addresses are routable to the open Internet.
This works for Republicans of color also, they see themselves as a step up from the “others”. They may not be white, but they aren’t just Black/Hispanic/[under-represented group]. That one guy in SC stated online “I’m a black Nazi!”
Slam!
duh duh duh, duh duh duh
Let the boys be boys!
Yeah I personally know 2 people that had COVID but died of pneumonia, not COVID. It’s like we learned nothing.
USA! USA! USA! USA!
I mean we did this already, Trump told people that COVID could be treated with UV lights and drinking bleach. Then told his cult it wasn’t real, it was going away really fast, and if we stop testing it’ll basically disappear over night.
I think in NY we are aware and the state is trying brace for the worse, and I see/hear people starting gardens, getting chickens, and basically have “bug out bags” incase things go sideways.
Several of these platforms used bots and/or multiple staff accounts to inflate user count/engagement to draw more people in and trigger the network effect.
So this is Devuan with some weird anti fascist nonsense thrown in? I don’t get it.
Reading that “article” likely written by AI, provided nothing positive or anyway it is different from Debian/Devuan. Seems like a “project” by someone that wants to feel like they are doing something but 6 months down the road will be chasing another shiny instead.
*Edit - holy shit that site is like AI word vomit, and their mirror list doesn’t exactly scream “we know what we’re doing”.
