I have to agree here, there’s a pub around the corner here (Germany) that consistently gives away free beer to recovering alcoholics because they think it’s the funny and manly thing to do.

For a reason.
Sexual harassment is not funny just because the victim is a straight guy. If this happened to a woman, everyone would be rightfully up in arms.
?? I specifically don’t use KDE because I cannot stand its modern design. I’m on Trinity DE because I want something more 2012. This is not 2012 at all.
I don’t mind this.
That’s how I met my girlfriend, unironically, lol. Since then I have to explain to family why I have a huge-ass dog crate in my bedroom. :3
But it does have 4G and GPS and all.
Just because you don’t? I use e-mail as my main way of messaging people I know and like.
You are using a fake app.
The narrative of these defenses is basically something like this: “And then I went to bed with her, intending to initiate a sexual relationship. As she undressed, I suddenly noticed her genitals not being what I expected. I realized it was a man trying to force me into gay sex under false pretenses, so I got scared, panicked and as a matter of self-defense against this devious attempt to sexually assault me, I took my gun and shot them. I was under stress and in shock, so I was not thinking clearly.”
The idea is that you’re so scared that “a man” is trying to “trick” you into “having sex with a man” by “lying about being a woman”, that in that moment of panic and helplessness, you would be allowed physical, up to lethal self-defense, like in any other rape case.
The entire narrative hinges on the idea that trans people intend to mislead people into having sex with them by “pretending to be a different gender than they really are”, and that they seek out “normal” people to deceive into sex, for their fetish. Which is, by the way, also the origin of the slur “trap”.
This blog post makes a point about how the strength of the Fediverse is that things can be decentralized into topic-specific instances instead of general use communities.
I am on StarTrek.Website. We only host Star Trek communities. It is much nicer there than on Lemmy.World.

It wasn’t this way before. Lemmy had existed for years before Eternal September.
-R removes a package. -Rs makes sure that all the then-unused dependencies are also removed along with it. -Rns is not really recommended for general use, but the -n flag removes configuration backup files (in case you consider those bloat).
