Actual narcissism is a psychological condition that not that many people have. It can have biological causes or it is thought to be triggered by traumatic events especially in early life. It can have severely negative effects on the people with narcissism and their surroundings.

I wouldn’t say capitalist society is feeling narcissism per se more than it is fueling extreme individualism, which is still different from narcissism.

Every other young guy is trying to start a dropship business because they heard on instagram/tiktok that it can get you rich fast. It’s a plague. I had guys come to me through work after losing their job saying they are now going to try dropshipping for a year. I can’t really prevent them from doing so but I always tell them to really give it a second thought before they drop their savings into setting up a business.

Hell I can afford to heat my house to an acceptable temperature but parts of it are so badly isolated that I can’t heat them at all. My bathroom gets around 10 degrees Celsius max in the winter. Mold loves it over there. It can’t be healthy at all and there are many houses like it. My landlord won’t do anything.

CO poisening deaths tripled over here. Many more people probably got sick and died of some preventable disease.

I don’t see anyone holding up signs celebrating those hostages. Hostages who Israel also refused to take back. And it’s funny how nobody is talking about thousands of Palestinians who have been taken and jailed by Israel on bullshit charges.

Nobody is celebrating the hostages. It’s just an emotional abuse card people pull up when Israel’s genocidal tactics get pointed out. And then we suddenly feel bad for hostages. Thousands of dispalced, kidnapped and killed people on Palestinian side don’t get the same treatment.

In perspective: making public transport free in NL is around 4 billion per year. Forgiving all the student debt of my generation, who have been royally fucked by it, would be around a 25 billion. There seems to be no money for this.

Yeah it seems we have finally found where all the money for healthcare, education, public transport, housing etc. is going to. Glad we have figured this out since our officials apparantly seem to not notice an amount of 10x of what they had in mind going to these companies
