Trying to setup dnscrypt-proxy on my personal laptop. I tend to think I things are more complicated, so I went down the rabbit hole searching for all manner of issues and setup guides. It’s not hard… RTFM

I 100% agree with BLM. It’s not a no to Harris, but I am so effin’ tired of getting nominees shoved down my throat. The DLC works for the people, not Kamela and Joe.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear. My point is, I do not believe you can compel people to vote at all based on ‘Trump bad’. They’ll just stay home. I am not including people who regularly vote. If you want to get people in line to vote, there needs to be a more compelling candidate.
It sounds like we’ll both find out who’s right in Nov.
Just … No. Of course Trump spews lies, what’s changed over the last 10 years? Nothing. And he’ll get his base to cast ballots.
What has changed is the capacity of President Biden to hold office. It is absolutely mind boggling how tone def Dem leadership is.
This election will be won by compelling undecideds and independent voters to cast a ballot, full stop. It’s a fallacy to think these voters will be compelled purely on policy. Perception is reality, and the perception from any sane person after watching things unfold the last two weeks is that Biden is not fit to carry on as President. Period.
You want Trump to win? Keep Biden in the race. “Trump worse” messaging will blow up in their faces, just like it did with Hillary. We need a compelling alternative.
Once again, Jon Stewart hits the nail on the head…
Don’t forget Chimera Linux ( not to be confused with Chimeraos)!
Gotcha. I looked at Seduction the bistro and I’m inclined to give it a trial alongside a few others.
It’s soo good. It’s taught me most of what I know about Linux. And, without getting into a battle over inits, I just love the simplicity of runit.
I never took a swing at musl, though I did kick it around a few times. I used my laptop for work for years and couldn’t afford to lose options for some apps. The gloves are off now :)
Great suggestion. A few of the distro suggestions here are in the deep end of the Linux pool, so it’s probably best to build them virtually to see how I want things setup.
I know, so cool. I am open to learning, but I am not sure I am in for that depth of education :)
I haven’t honestly. Isn’t that one that takes forever to install because it builds the packages as you install the system?
Ah Chimera. I’ve been looking at that the last two days. I am really tempted to give it a shot. My laptop is mostly for playing around these days. Are you running it?
I forgot about Arch. I ran Manjaro for a year and didn’t have the best experience. 'Course I was pretty green on Linux then.
Thanks, Sid hasn’t been on my radar. Ill go have a look. I happen to have a ZFS box up in rsync.net running Debian, and it’d be nice to learn more about CLI in the deb world.
Thanks for the heads up. That is something I’ve taken into consideration. I am curious how long I’d last on musl.
It’s definitely hard to beat: )
Void is just soo good.
Wow. #1 ‘get off my lawn’ post of the day. There is nothing wrong with auto… It’s the drivers.
Yeah. So let’s not paint the whole world one color. Just because it doesn’t meet your needs, AND you simply don’t like them, doesn’t mean everyone else needs to be like you.
0 to 60 doesn’t mean shit in a truck. Why did you buy one in the first place? Cornering at speed?? … Not what trucks are meant to do. Why the hell would you buy one??
Glad you like your car. I’m sure it’s nice. If you’re getting 18 MPG, you’ve managed to accomplish what many late model trucks cannot… Get under 20mpg.
Disclosure: I own a 2003 F250. I don’t park like the asshat did in the pic, and I don’t care how fast my truck goes. I don’t roll coal and I run biodiesel to reduce emissions.
Void Linux. Super stable and offers an easy and lightning fast package manager. I’m not sure of your use case but it has been great for me on an older Dell precision laptop for work.
Mountain biking, hiking, skiing, or golfing.
Life outdoors is so enjoyable and cathartic.
