There was a lot of press I read about the British and French elections. I’ve even seen some coverage of the Indian elections.
I think part of the problem is that, not only are American elections important, but they are also scheduled. Most other nations have snap elections where campaigning is on the level of months. You also have an extended party selection process which takes over half a year to finish.
American media can have dedicated election journalists churning out content for far longer than other nations, so more gets written.
I don’t see why US election deserve more credit on global communities than French. German or Belgian ones.
Because French, German and Belgium elections don’t affect the rest of the world (or “global community” if you prefer) nearly as much as the USA ones?
I didn’t even slightly care about American politics, until they started a proxy war in my country and now whether hundreds of thousands (or even millions) of people live or die (probably) depends on the elections in USA…
