This kind of editorial moderation is what libs and fascists do when they know their arguments can’t stand up to critiques. The silence dissent, because if they didn’t, it would be clear how in the wrong they are.

Same shit. Same mindset. Same goals. Same outcomes.

This is the kind of shit that equates one thing with another, horrible thing. Nazis say all the time that censoring them just makes one bad as them. It’s all just to protect horrible people from any pushback, it puts fascist ideologies on the same level as others.

Seriously, respecting people saying fascist shit only legitimizes them, it’s the same as platforming Nazis.

The “marketplace of ideas” is a liberal value. Marxists tend to understand that correct ideas do not actually get accepted simply through exposure, people have to want to believe it for it to be accepted, which is largely driven by class interests and material conditions. In that sense, censoring harmful ideas is generally understood to be preferable to letting harmful ideas run freely.

What part of I’m not a mod of this community are you still struggling to understand?

As a side note, Communists have never shied away from the need to censor harmful ideas, so there is no contradiction in us banning fascist views here. It’s the liberals who purport to champion their market place of ideas who have to do mental gymnastics to justify censorship they call authoritarian when others do it.

This is just seeing liberals and fascists use state power to entrench their ideology and concluding that doing that for any reason or ideology at all is inherently liberal/fascist.
