Maybe racist ideas about Russian incompetence and weakness clouded Western judgement and they underestimated the Russians?
Well, whatever it is, Kofman should have figured this out before the summer offensive. Some reality before that disaster could have saved many lives. But then again, if someone like Kofman had broken out of the collective delusion before June, they would have just kicked him out of the club.
