Quartz from gold bearing reef with dog for scale

Sticks.
When my wife and I are driving (anywhere) and we see a dog we excitedly point “DOG!” and then talk about how cute / good the dog looks. Or if I’m on my own I’ll come back and say “I saw a dog when I was driving” and a similar conversation. I thought everyone did this.
I don’t think I have autism, but my story to relate to this: I was in downtown Houston once with some friends and I told them about this spot nearby where there’s a big red button that you can push. It was only a couple of blocks away, and no one was interested. It’s a big red button! You push it and it does something! Am I the only one with a sense of adventure?!
It did something?
Yes, it did.
It made bubbles appear in the nearby bayou. Like if there was something big under the water.
But the mystery was half the point.
Animals. I’ve seen thousands and thousands of cows in my life. Yet when I drive by a field of cows I’m still like “Cows!”
Tiny plants growing in unexpected places
Two words:
Free. Food.
Cool rocks.
I have one that looks like an allosaurus head on my scanner at work.
Yeah I prospect for gold every now and then so the same. It’s hard because I live on a goldfield, know where the productive parts are, see quartz reefs stick out of those on the roadside and know I can do nothing about it because it’s roadside, on a major highway.
I love rocks. They’re awesome.
Can you post a photo of your rock? So we can see how cool it is? 🦖
Rock tax:

RAWRRR!!! 🦖🦖🦖👍
Yes! The Rock Tax must be paid!
Big Rock must have sent a cease and decist.
Every rock seen as a picture is a rock not picked up and brought home.
Getting excited at all is rather rare for me. Usually training sessions get me slightly exited. Maybe that classifies as a special interest as well by now.
Loads of things especially if its colourful, textured, shiny etc
But, mostly bugs, plants, wood, rocks, patterns, wool (that really nice multi dyed stuff), art materials and paint
The list is endless…
