“Revenge bedtime procrastination” is usually the term for this

Trading off sleep for emotional recuperation is valid

Some replies are saying it’s an everybody thing, but I’d argue that neurodivergent peeps on average experience more stress than neurotypical people (friction from the world not being designed for us) so tend to engage is more coping behaviors…like revenge bedtime procrastination

Its OK, nothing has been original since humanity existed. Let that absolve you of anxiety. Nothing you do matters or is original. Thats how I think anyway! Actually makes me be more creative without worrying. 108 billion humans have lived and died already and we know like 50 of their names. We dont matter, and its great!

Yes I think its partially a non NT thing, its called sleep revenge. I spend all day thinking about things I’d rather be doing and having fun on than workin, then get off work and want to stay up late to do it all. Usually I just get overwhelmed because there isnt enough time and do something like read a book or do dishes.

i didnt think i was autistic for a long time because how its described a lot of times has nothing to do with the subjective experience of being autistic. its all how our behavior impacts others, which is really fucking ambiguous and poorly defined. i didnt really figure out what autism really was until i looked at a bunch of autism memes and saw the comments of autistic people talking about their experiences and realized i shared most of those experiences, to the point i could believe i wrote the comments and just forgot. since then ive realized a lot of people are autistic without realizing it because the diagnostic criteria is so stereotyped and really doesnt describe most autistic people. keep browsing, you might identify with the memes for a reason lol.

The impacts of autism aren’t platform exclusive, you have experience them on any hardware.

But these memes are also often relatable to the baseline experience of living under capitalism.

that’s why I decided to only work part-time in form of a 4-day-week. Less salary, but life is just so much more relaxed, even with the reduced money I have. I can’t afford vacations or other costly things in my free time, but god damn, having an extra day free is still so much worth it.

Exactly why I would spend Friday nights doing what I enjoyed until I was ready to sleep somewhere on a Saturday.

This way I felt like I actually got to enjoy my weekend a little.

I was up all night the other night. No drugs. Just couldn’t calm down enough. We’re all under too much stress.

I hate sleep, it’s weakness of the body, but i understand the importance of it and that with current technological limitations we can’t eliminate it either. So begrudgingly have to accept this limitation of the body.

Without need in sleep you wouldn’t get more life. Instead corporations would make prices of everything higher and make you work for longer.

So enjoy your little moments of sleep, while you can.

Sadly you’re right, but I’m still not going to enjoy.

Being unconscious for ~8h or suffering the consequences of lack of it or even just doing it badly is just slightly better than the corporations scenario.
