13 hours agoI really find this take to be completely low minded. Comedy is more than making a statement and receiving laughs for it. You might say comedy is on a spectrum and offensive humour is ,I’d argue, near the bottom of it. The absolute best comedians are the ones who can take a complex and sensitive topic and have you laughing about it. The worst type of comedian is one who goes full kramer and then gets mad that no one finds it funny. However, fundamentally the quality of a joke is determined by the audience and never by the jester. Joke about anything you want but if no one’s laughing you’re probs just a cunt hiding behind a thin veneer of ‘humour’.
