My “summer vacation” consists of a couple weeks where the plant is shut down due to heat and I can collect from unemployment. Whoopie!
Although I certainly can afford it, I haven’t taken a vacation in about 35 years. Hell I haven’t been on an airplane since 1978. I’ve got nowhere I want to see bad enough to leave home for over a day!

I didn’t vacation when I was impoverished either! My point is why does everyone think that they have to be somewhere else in the world? I know that is so for business but vacations are an absolute waste of money! Read the implications!
You don’t value travel. It’s a waste of money to you. But regardless of individual tastes, anyone’s quality of life is degraded by poverty, and this population shift indicates increasing poverty.
Seeing natural wonders is good, meeting new people is good, experiencing new things is good. Vacations are human enrichment.
Well there you go! But staying home is good as well. I’ve gotten good at it. Everything is copacetic at home. No hassles of airports, reservations, and packing your pile of clothes across the world. Vacations are fine if you feel you need it but I’ve never felt it enough to actually want to. I’ve got lots to do at home and wish for nobody to fill in if I’m gone.

Because vacations are fun and allow you to blow off steam for a little while? Because it’s cool, interesting, and mind-expanding to visit and explore different places of the world and learn about different people and cultures?
You honestly have never seen a European town/city, some beautiful picturesque mountain view, or an amazing beach scene and never once thought “I’d like to go to some of those places, they look really cool”?

Have that shit all you want! Think I’m a troll if you want but I can see All that shit on tv and I don’t have to bother leaving home! Believe or not some people love home. I actually would love to see some certain places but that’s as far as it goes. My wife and I are quite content right at home thank you!
I’d love to travel to Russia for a while, maybe for a few months, maybe for a few years. Aside from that I don’t care about travel, I don’t get any enjoyment from looking at famous buildings that everyone has seen before on TV. I’m all for travel but I prefer to stay in one place and make it productive. Just traveling for pleasure seems pointless to me. There should be a solid goal, not just an international holiday every 1-2 years for the hell of it.
Sad about the poverty though. I’ve been poor my whole life lol
