i’m member of the second largest union in this country and i get this same feeling every time it see a half dozen or so union people picket a location.
they’re DWARFED by the number of people who ignore them and keep patronizing the business anyways. in fact they’re so dwarfed that you would even be able to notice them if it weren’t for the signs.
in the last picket; they were only legally allowed to occupy the space next to the dumpsters almost behind the building – where no one could see them… not that it would have mattered since there were only 5 of them.
Sadly, soft fascism is so baked into American society that is what the majority eats, breathes, sleeps, and shits.
