It’s always been this way. The US has never and will never be a democracy. It’s just that the powers that be have stopped pretending. The only check or balance the country ever has was the people, but the people aren’t fighting back so they’re just gonna keep doing it. This is the result of voting being the primary strategy for affecting change. Voting doesn’t accomplish shit.
Trump is just dropping the pretense. If anything he’s making the US more efficient.
I had read somewhere that Biden wasn’t going to, but his people convinced him a lot of people who did a lot more woudl be pardoned by Trump just because, so just be with your dang son.
I read somewhere that Biden super duper never ever would pardon his own son because “honesty and integrity really mattererd to the DNC” but then he did despite nobody wanting him to.
Also, it was pretty reasonable to expect that with trump on the way in, he might go after hunter just for shits and giggles. It was also perfectly fair to assume that the law and justice were both about to be sidelined.
