Is it just me or is the readability on this page atrocious? Some text has too little contrast imo, but in general it looks weirdly rendered and hurts to read.
Ok, so it’s like all those fingerprinting scanner websites that already exist, but written by a marketer (or LLM) instead of an engineer.
The alarmist tone of the page wouldn’t be so grating if it weren’t incorrect about so much. I feel like I just got done watching a first-time magician lose their rabbit but they do it with the utmost confidence.
Yeah it was wrong about a lot of mine too. Especially location—because VPN. So I guess I’m safer than most lol
It has the tone of a fifteen year old that’s just read V for Vendetta which is so irritating. Maybe it would be more worrying if I used a less private browser like chrome but I’m not concerned about a website knowing I need it to load in English or what my IP address is since that’s kind of fundamental for transferring data here. The EFF one at least gives more useful information on what to fix and doesn’t condescend the reader in the process.
It said the display of my 2018 is recent and high end, lol
A fun presentation, although I like the EFF’s Cover-Your-Track page more:
https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/It knows I’m on an iPhone and roughly which city I’m in, that I have the standard iOS fonts installed and that my iPhone denies it access to battery levels or gyroscope readings. I was half expecting it to tell me my political views, sexual proclivities and most recent health concerns, and must say I am slightly disappointed.
