But my guess would be because so many in the US were happy with retailiatory genocide and it took quite a long time and many Palestinian deaths for their opinions to shift (which has finally now happened), and the oversized power of the pro-Israel lobbies in US govt.

i’m not convinced it’s shifted; these feel like nothing more than stunts to curry favor with the base because they know it’s doomed to failure before it even begins and also intended to be political cover to give isreal time to figure out the right hasbara posture to return americans into a state of ignorance/disinterest about palestine.
