Nah, he’s done it several times. I’m not providing a full dossier of receipts because I have shit to do, but again this comes from a pattern of observed behavior. Again, former fan. Like my point is literally that he’s not consistently pro-LGBT. Anti-trans crusader? Absolutely not, but trans rights clearly aren’t a factor in his worldview.
BE is pro LGBT. He frequently mentions it including in his video about Norman Finkelstein, where he calls out Norman for his book. The reason for his attack was because a lot of trans people were using their identity to pinkwash the genocide and attacking the Palestinian resistance on it. BE then made an edgy tweet generalizing the entire white trans community for it but it’s not something that happens every single day nor is there a whole dossier about it.
If you want to call him out when he does it that’s fine but this video is about the DSA being Zionist imperialists and you’re doing nothing but detracting from its content with ad-hominems. There is nobody else calling out the DSA on being literal genocidaires.

Yeah which is why I don’t look to him for opinions about “culture war” issues. (Actually, the real reason I’m hinky on Finkelstein is that he doesn’t support BDS. He did do transphobia a long time ago, but I believe he apologized for his previous position. I don’t really care if he doesn’t like “woke” or whatever; he’s basically yelling at a strawman.) Difference between him and BE is Finkelstein has actually done original work. But yes actually, we should be looking for better anti-Zionist voices than Finkelstein.

It’s completely and utterly acceptable and reasonable to add a footnote when shitty people say serviceable things.

Hell no I won’t. I condemn LGBT-phobia done by Hamas, but you know damn well that Hamas’s supposed LGBT-phobia is exaggerated for propaganda. Good job doing legwork for Zionists to own me in an argument, I’m feeling so fucking owned right now. Of course Hamas should be more LGBT friendly, which I feel is applicable to any and all organizations, even the ones I tolerate (I don’t really like anyone 100%, including myself), even LGBT-friendly organizations. I commend Hamas for their brave resistance against the Zionist entity.
