I’d be nice if there was a list of which eyedrops the FDA was referring to in the article ….
Consumers should stop using the products immediately and avoid purchasing any that remain on pharmacy and store shelves, the FDA said in a statement Friday.
I guess we’re supposed to look elsewhere for actual info on how to protect ourselves. This amounts to clickbait-adjacent in that it’s a real thing but still not the thing we want.
The brands sold are:
- CVS Health
- Leader (Cardinal Health)
- Rugby (Cardinal Health)
- Rite Aid
- Target Up&Up
- Velocity Pharma
Looks like they all contain carboxymethylcellulose sodium, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, hypromellose, and/or dextran. Heres the FDA info I sourced this from: https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-warns-consumers-not-purchase-or-use-certain-eye-drops-several-major-brands-due-risk-eye#eyedrops
Here you go, scroll to the bottom
It looks like it’s CVS, Leader, Rugby, Rite Aid, Target, and Velocity Pharma brands.
