After digging through to the actual context…in the podcast interview he left the interviewers with a weak position on Cuban and Venezuelan leaders and whether he considers them dictators. His office followed up with a more well laid out position on the issue.

" I want to be clear on where I stand. I believe both Nicolas Maduro and Miguel Diaz-Canel are dictators. Their administrations have stifled free and fair elections, jailed political opponents, and suppressed the free and fair press. And yet, our federal government’s long history of punitive policies toward both countries, including extrajudicial killings of Venezuelans and the continuation of a decades long blockade of Cuba, have only worsened these conditions. Democratic socialism is about dignity, justice and accountability. And above all, it’s about building a democracy that works for working people, not one that preys on them."

He doesn’t profess to be a communist so I’m not sure why the linked article is expecting him to align with communism. He’s said several times, including in the above statement, that he’s a democratic socialist.

They are mad that he beat the donor class, they are doing anything and everything to undermine him, throwing mud at the wall until something sticks… which it hasn’t

Oh fuck it’s Rainer coming at us. Gonna give this a read and see how far off base he is. This guy went full on PatSoc and started going after PSL in a totally disingenuous way and I can’t trust anything he’s written since.

I stopped reading him after his MAGA communism meltdown, he totally lost the plot, and especially after Trump presidency didn’t materialised anything even remotely resembling left shift in republican workers.
