You’re the one missing the point. Politicians sell out to get into their positions. We don’t want concessions from a minority in power, the people must be in power. Mamdani led with rhetoric that he would upset that somehow, and is already giving every indication of compromising on every meaningful front. This may be your first rodeo but it’s not ours.

He’s the equivalent of the federal President at the municipal level. Appointments, veto power, managing the entire bureaucracy, plus the bully pulpit with a national platform at this point. And he’s already squandering it before he’s even in office. More power than anyone else in NYC.
