After “The Voice of Hind Rajab,” which counts Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara as executive producers, received a nearly 23-minute standing ovation at its Venice Film Festival premiere in September, filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania took a slew of meetings with potential North American distributors.

Executives praised the film, which follows the Palestine Red Crescent Society’s failed attempt to save Hind, a Palestinian child who was killed in Gaza in 2024 after being trapped in a car under Israeli fire.

But not a single major studio or streamer made an offer on the movie, the official Oscar submission of the Tunisian Culture Ministry, Ben Hania said.

“People never say, ‘I’m afraid to pick up a movie,’” Ben Hania said. “Maybe they are. I don’t know. They can’t openly talk about it, because it’s a shame to be afraid of talking about the killing of a child.”

I recommend watching Reel Bad Arabs for an example of how closely Hollywood and US imperial project are aligned. It’s basically the propaganda arm of the empire.

Man… I’ve always dismissed the “jews control the media” as anti-semetic gobbledyremoved, and I’m under the impression that Zionism originated as a British anti-semetic project to get all the jews out but working for them in the middle east… but sometimes with shit like this. I don’t know anymore.

Not all zionists are jews as you’ve alluded to, but all zionists are terrible people, and you can’t get rich enough to bankroll a movie without also being a terrible person, probably just a lot of overlap. Also big money loves Zionism so if anyones behind the scenes it’s probably a weapons manufacturer or something anyway.

I still remember when many action movies and tv series had the bad guys be Palestinians, or failing that Islamic, or trying to attack Israel.

To have the same producers (most have not retired yet) stick their necks out to humanize Palestinians, or highlight real issues, is simply unrealistic.

Anyway, eagerly waiting for the release of x-men:part 38, attack of the antifa
