they’ll add you to the do-not-arrest list but next time they notice you committing crimes they’ll arrest you again anyway, it’s pointless
They’ll curse you and slink back to their lair to devise a new, ingenious plan to finally defeat you once and for all, He-Man/She-Ra! Nyaaahahaha!
(/unshitty: depends on where you are and what you did)
On the reservation I’m from, up until the late 90s or so, there weren’t enough cops.
So, if you could fight off the cop that was trying to arrest you, they couldn’t arrest you.
So most of the times, rather than fight, they would just ask the person, “Hey, do you want to come in and get this taken care of?” And if they said, “No,” they would just be like, “Alright, I’m writing it up, and it’s gonna come out of your money”
That money is not money you get for being an Indian.
Our tribe has a lot of land, and since there’s nothing else to do, it gets leased out to cattle ranchers. And so every year, many people in the tribe get a few hundred bucks, and that’s where the money for paying their tickets or whatever would come from.
Being arrested tends to be an “agreement not necessary” situation. Best case, they arrest you anyway and slap an obstruction and/or evasion charge on top of whatever you’re being charged with already.
Worst case, you become emotionally distressed and start to fight back which could very well lead to your untimely demise.

Before he became a religious leader, Malcolm X was a professional criminal.
In his autobiography he says that it’s always best to cooperate with the police. If you’re going to be arrested, it’s much better to walk into the station on your own two feet, and not go to the jail ward at the hospital.
