This is not the cure for fascism this is the last resort way of dealing with it.
Fascism is a byproduct of the capitalist system.
When the inequality gets too great in society those at the bottom are looking for change and Fascism offers that for them.
It also captures and uses and abuses a lot of young people who are impressionable and want to do the right thing and make things better and they fall for the lies of fascists.
You combat fascism by bringing in good tax laws and social programs that makes sure the wealthy don’t get preposterously rich while the poor get so poor that working a full time job is no longer enough to meet their basic needs and more.
You cure fascism by getting rid of the hierarchical social structure that is capitalism that the fascist hierarchical system maps on to very well and create a more equal society that’s where it’s much harder if not impossible for fascists to take power.
It’s been my whole life so far and things take three steps back for every half step forward. I’m ready for guillotines. I don’t want to waste my whole life voting for the lesser evil and praying for gradual reform but getting the greater evil anyway. My seemingly incurable social ineptitude and speaking skills haven’t helped any attempts to take direct action while taking the moral high ground. There are more people wanting to undermine the optimal system for meaningless hate and personal gain every day and if I’m going to die and hope the next generation has it better I want to take everyone undeserving that would greedily ruin things for everyone else with me.
I guess arguably, there are not many truly fascist cunts and those ones deserve the bat, but the current societal structure and systems in place allows for a predictable rise of fascism, by people who believe the lies fed to them, who want a better life for themselves and for their children and thus become a enablers/silent bystanders as fascism rises.
I would say that while in the US this is very accurate, it is important to understand that it is not inherently a capitalism problem, but rather an abuse of human nature and hard times by those who have something to gain (ideals, money, power, joy, etc)
Why would this only be accurate in the US? The nazis gained power after the economic collapse of 29 combined with the ww1 reparations destroying the German economy.
Now we are post 2 financial crises in 2008 and covid and AfD is on the rise in germany, Macron almost lost to he fascist party.
The Brothers of Italy had massive increase in recent elections.
Modi, Bolsonaro, who ever the fuck clown is they elected in Argentina.
Far-right populism is on the rise world wide as the economic struggles continue.

For me this is the quintessential video essay on fascism (white fascism) https://youtu.be/5Luu1Beb8ng
Is a cure
But, ounce of prevention and all that.
