whenever a cool name springs to my mind, i add it to a text file. i use that file when i create accounts or game characters and mark names in it i already used.

Exactly. Average person, not a big deal. But if someone for some reason decides to target you, you give them a huge amount of days about you quickly. I tend to make a new name for each service.
Oh, I don’t use this name everywhere. I like to be recognized online, but the Venn diagram of those who know me online and those who know me offline is basically two separate circles.
I have been this user name for seventeen years. I’m ADHD and forget friend on platforms. This makes it easy to find me.

I just use my username to express myself until people who don’t like me ban me and then choose another to continue being myself.
Pretty attached. My parents picked it.
