2·10 months agoThx, I read the page but I didn’t know more afterwards. It has to scrobbleif it wants to be successful bit that’s not mentioned anywhere. And if it wants to become a scrobbler, then why not extending listennbrainz by the functionality it’s missing

It states that it’s strava like. The difference of strava compared to nextcloud, fitotrack, osmdashboard is that it’s a social running app. It is mastodon where people only post about their tracks.
I haven’t read anything about social on the website?
I agree linux can be very difficult but easy as well if you do not have “exotic” needs. If more people were using linux, especially more non techies, a lot would change but we’ll get there just slowly.

I initially thiught you meant that you had to use commands in order to tinker with the UI - that’s my bad!
Wifi card, drivers, etc. can be a real pain. That’s neither linux or your fault. It’s just that noone prior to you wanted to use it and that’s why it wasn’t yet supported. Most systems are just plug and play. - compare it to macos, and you’ll find that linux is easy to install on most systems.
Auto mount is done using fstab right. Yoz xna also auto mount from the file explorer of the disk utility, it always depends on the system. There are a lot of different things and it’s not perfect.
Dual booting is in my opinion something for advanced people. I have no idea why anyone would ever suggest it to a newcomer! It’s pain in the ass if you deviate from the standard protocol.
Xou can double click on a shell script (.sh) by
chmod +x file.shor > right click > properties > exe as program
Beginners usually do not have to do anything in terminal to adjust the system. Which desktop environment?
There isn’t one united linux user frontend - would be cool if you’d state which one is not great.

When I uninstalled whatsapp it took some people half a year but finally all installed either matrix or signal. I am sitting in a good boat, others are not so lucky.

Time to use arcticons
Use docker compose . Like “everyone” uses it. If the service doesn’t have a compose file, request it, or write it yourself as son as you are knowledgable enough.
Use podman as soon as people and services switch to it (you’ll know when the latest tutorials talk about podman instead of docker).
Use ngingx proxy manager or another easy to use reverse proxy.
Don’t think it’s production ready after it was working 2 days. It may be, but it’s unlikely you have enough knowledge how to fix things.
Automatic updates.
Don’t install crap on the system.
If you scrobble automatically you do not have to search for the entry once opening the service.
