They added native tiling a while back! I am running debian 12 with plasma 5.27 and it is super comfortable.

Tiling is built into plasma after late versions of 5. You can hit super+T to change default layout, shift+drag window to snap to layout, and set custom keybinds for keybord navigation. There might be default settings but I set mine to mimic i3 of the bat so I couldnt tell you what they are…
Plasma has such a good tiling window manager now as well, with one of the most low resource draw frameworks powering it. But it isn’t cool and hip I guess!
Isn’t this just freecad?
90s Volvos are great! S70 over here.
Until some open standards are made for car computerization, it will continue to be used as a tool to keep you as a consumer dependent on the company’s good will and certified technicians. It is so much easier to lock a silly little consumer out of a digital system with closed source and obfuscation than a mechanical one, if both systems have a way to be serviced. When this status quo changes, I will finally give up my old 20+ year old cars. As of now, they are reliable as long as I keep up with their routine maintenance, and they dont track me, monitor me, or lock me out when i need to get something changed or modified. - gen Z system admin
Unfortunate. My wife has an inspiron 7000 gaming laptop that I bought for school in 2016… it has survived a repair to the screen due to being ran hard and dropped often, but it is still a powerhouse and keeps up with any task thrown at it with Fedora Kinoite. The keyboard stopped lighting up a few years back but other than that it shows no sign of stopping.
I still have the refreshed second gen version running, got an android 12 rom flashed and now it is being used with an amcrest camera as a privacy friendly nanny cam monitor!
If you buy new and sell before 100k miles, Hyundai/Kia are great. Otherwise, you better be okay with oil consumption and potential engine work, the new engines are kinda prone to failure.
One more possible solution would be a buggy c-state setting on the motherboard. I have an x570 amd board that would do this until I disabled cstates in bios. It would happen any time, sometimes during movies or when I wasn’t moving the mouse and in a meeting. Not sure if it is fixed yet or not, don’t really feel like toggling it back!
See now that sounds expensive again to me… my wife is a fake vegan of sorts, aka no meat, no dairy except lactose free cheese, but WILL eat eggs, and when I try shopping for her I struggle to find food that would allow her to consistently eat 78-80 grams of protein a day without paying quite a lot for gluten based protein products or tofu. Nuts can only be bought in smaller quantities as well, due to how expensive they end up being. It also seems that all those other complete amino acid foods have high levels of carbs, how do you offset that without simply being overly active every day? I keep reading more about it and cant find anything helpful online that incorporates a steady diet that will supplement a physical gym routine including a lot of lifting with the desire for muscle growth. Maybe im just a weird minority here, IDK :(
My mistake, though I am curious how do you accomplish a high protein plant based diet that offers complete proteins?
kudos to those who can afford being vegan. I know that with this spreads nutritional ratio I would either gain weight rapidly (and thus have to sub in more expensive proteins) or have to work out all the time. I
Nice foss alternative to obsidian is Logseq. Not completely feature for feature, but still very cool and powerful. I use it daily.
Gonna back this up as well, never had an issue for 5 concurrent releases
Before Steam deck these were non options if you cared about pc specific games, now that is obviously the golden option!
Check out distrobox. Allows you to run any distro in a container and use the apps on your system like they are native.
I used nvidia with vrr on linux for a while before getting sick of the paper cut issues. I used gnome fedora which has pretty good support for nvidia wayland, and then whenever I wanted to game I logged out and into x11 with a single monitor config, as that would allow vrr to activate. it was janky but it worked and worked well. If you are stuck with Nvidia for the foreseeable future it is the only way if you are dedicated to the linux route.
If they end up contributing upstream, great and I see no issue. If not, a bit scummy, but its Apple we are talking about, so thats to be expected :)
really buggy on fedora kinoite
