It wasn’t a bad platform. I think it’s worth checking out. I’m not sure if the UX has changed, but even if it hasn’t it might work for some people. Just after having used things like Facebook Groups/Events and Meetup.com it didn’t really make sense to me and a few people who used my instance.
I tried running an instance of it to go with my regional Mastodon instance but no one was interested in using it. The UX was also really strange at the time.
Feedbin. Not a Linux app, but a web app. And not FOSS or self hosted. Just a really great app run by great people for a great price. Parses full content and has a pretty nice API.
