Is this a thing?. Most people I know personally are pretty for ending suffering for everyone.

Americans who are paying taxes that is. If you’re not paying any tax you’re probably not supporting much the US government is doing.
Nations aren’t the best for humans and their wellbeing. Religion is pretty bad and politics so far is only marginally better. The one structure that actually seems to be doing well is science.
Everyone else is just WebKit or Gecko
Two years later, how’s the switch been?

You would be surprised, I’ve heard that response more than once already. They are just philanthropic and dump millions upon millions of dollars down the drain for the love of FOSS and the community.

That’s the plan, undercut funding for US AI labs, also the main reason they’ve been releasing open source models after spending millions to train them essentially getting zero financial return. They didn’t release them for the love of FOSS or just donate that capital for the lolz.

Depends which prison and how high ranking you are.
If you want system usages to be as low as possible you can skip a GUI all together, just use viu, mpv, w3m and such or you can look into projects like DSL (damn small Linux) and puppy Linux. If you’re trying to maintain a mostly normal experience you can look into efficiencies in compiling your kernel and software a la Gentoo.
It will be some ideal or another when one can choose a form. I do think as our technology increases our free will increases, as we’re typically free / capable to do more than we did before. The extrapolation of that out to the extreme is to be like a deity. In a simulated space one could change form into whatever they desire any moment they desire it. I think if our minds had enough experience of that level of freedom we would calm down about things such as gender and sexuality. Similarly to wealth, when one can create empires and mountains of gold effortlessly it’s difficult to assign boundaries of wealth and poverty. There’s the idea that this is a simulation and we came to the “human experience” because we got tired of limitlessness. This reality with its risks and high stakes is more engaging, more thrilling, dare I say more fun.

Yeah, there’s a push to no ownership or everything as a service with user data collection and ads. A more than good reason to use and support FOSS and non-profits. We’re starting to see governments adopting Linux so that’s good, corporations will follow and maybe just maybe there will be a proper pushback on that trend.
Anything is a sex toy if you try hard enough.

Typically when a service is free you are the product. This is a good example.
Mercator was high that day.

One time as a kid I found an offset motor with straps to strap to your hand to aid in giving a massage in my grandma’s room. It wasn’t until my adult life I realized it was likely just an OG vibrator (╥﹏╥)
When we fully start simulating realities what are the odds everyone picks baddie anime girl avatars?

Politics is religion2.0

I often come back to the concept that every mental and physical state is a form of yoga, like there’s laughing and crying yoga aka we are bringing our breath, body, and mind into a posture to focus on a thing whichever that thing is. These days I’m so old and crusty that even the unpleasantness of the human condition is appreciated and something I’m grateful to have.
Most the people I know personally want the conflicts in both locations (and others) to subside.
