That last sentence is very good advice, I would like to get an official diagnosis and have some professional opinion whether he has it or not. My wife doesn’t want him to get a label and maybe other (worse) treatment from teachers or other adults.

Thanks, after reading all the replies I feel getting an official diagnosis is the first step. Giving your kid all the support and tools the second and medicate the third. I’ll have to talk to my wife as she is not a fan of getting the diagnosis and giving him the ADHD label (it’s weird as she has it but only was diagnosed in her 30s).

Thanks, I (like your parents) don’t feel very comfortable giving my kid the medication, on the other hand if it helps him and in the long run he’ll be a happier adult it is worth it. My wife got diagnosed in her 30s so she has developed a lot of coping mechanisms. I hope we can give him all the support and tools that are available. Thank you for answering.

Looking back what would have helped more? Parents that understand and try to support you, teachers knowing your situation and maybe helping you more or medication?

That sucks! I honestly (as a father) can’t even imagine raising a kid like this, I definitely make mistakes, but try to support both my kids as much as I can.

My kid doesn’t speak English, he is 5 (and Dutch), one day in the car I was playing “Pennywise - Fuck authority”. He said that the man said fuck. Even if you’re 5 and don’t speak English you understand that the word fuck is a swearword.

I also noticed that the youtube app recently started giving “help” about what comment to write. That small area where you can comment on a video, it showed something like “what’s the best band you heard? 🤔”. I’m not sure if that is a new thing creators can add, but with the think smiley it feels very much like AI". I don’t need AI to tell me what kind of comment to give. It feels like AI is trying to dilute my thoughts.

I also have these options in the app, for some reason they where hidden yesterday, I checked multiple times.

Is this on the desktop chrome version, or the app? For me in the app there is no button or any way to change this. Same for the site in Firefox mobile. I was on my phone, so I don’t know about the desktop version.

I probably shouldn’t even be using youtube in the first place, but 5 min ago I found out youtube is now forcing videos with an AI translated voice. While at the same time not having an option to change the audio track or disable the feature.

This feels like a good example of pushing features most people don’t want while not providing a normal way to disable it.

Thank God I use revanced and can spoof the client as IOS TV, this gives you the option do disable that crap.
