Ubuntu is popular and new-user friendly. And xfce is generally lighter on resources. It’s a good choice.
What can I do
Almost everything.
Some proprietary apps you’ve used from windows may not be available, but there equivalent ones would be available on linux.
Stuff like browsing the web(provided that you don’t open too many tabs, because you have low ram) and watching movies n all is quite good.
What all things fo you intend to do on it? I think it’ll be easier to check that the things you want are there.
Opensource/FOSS:
Kdenlive, Openshot, Shotcut
It think Shotcut is the simplest to use.
Not for pp endurance training?
I’ve used Chrome(Haven’t yet tried Ungoogled Chromium on PC. Have used Bromite in the past). It didn’t seem much faster.
Chrome generally felt faster on google services like Meet tho.

As a person who hasn’t really looked up the issue(I mean I have read about it on the net here n there, but have never dived into the issue deeply), I have seen people talking about it on both sides and I’m confused.

Most of the times I’ve seen it, both sides accuse each other of being blinded by propaganda and the convo devolves there.
Which side is actually right here?
Edge is/was(have read that windows fixed some defender issue) slightly faster than firefox.
Backed up and deleted all your posts and comments? Is there some sort-of simple way to do that, for people who’re not programmers?
I’m from the state of Kerala in India. We had 4-5 active n quite decent subreddits on the state, local memes n all.
People are moving into lemmy, but many might not. Some might stay away from reddit, even after the blackout ends. Overall, I think they were fun people to interact with and since it’s not sure whether an equivalent community will be built up here, it’s sort of a loss.
Upvoting because of Aubrey Plaza
What does this mean tho?
An idea cannot fight weapons/power without public support. And for public support it needs to be daring enough point out the opponents? And for this the idea needs to be rooted on human life?
