I worked at a restaurant part-time for some extra “fun” money before COVID. Once we went to take-out only during the pandemic, everything turned toxic and I was not happy with how the management were handling everything. They told us “be happy because you’re basically making $20 an hour with how well everyone is tipping” but the morale was absolutely abysmal.

I was letting these teenagers know that they were getting poor treatment and management came to me and basically said “they look up to you, you can’t tell them those things. They are all going to be mad”, so I quit. They were mad at me for telling these teenagers that they don’t have to devote their life to this restaurant that began making record profits during one of the worst and uncertain times for many of these kids families.

Basically what I’m getting at is, if they do ask the workers, they don’t want to hear how they actually feel.

Dragon’s Dogma is so good! I loved the game. The story is pretty much nothing until the latter fourth of the game, but I find it pretty compelling and interesting. Stick with it if you enjoy the gameplay enough (not sure about that bug though); the payoff for playing through to the end and then scouring Bitterblack Isle is well worth pushing through the nearly non-existant story in the middle.

I started playing Shovel Knight a couple days ago and I have really enjoyed my time with it so far! I’m not much of a 2D side-scroller/platformer kind of gamer, but this has been a lot of fun. I’m really looking forward to the other playable characters.

Other than that, I still hop onto Death Stranding occasionally. Being in the end game makes it really easy to hop in and make a few deliveries and then hop out.

I’m not surprised; I was killing some time at Micro Center yesterday and couldn’t believe how high the prices were. Shelves were pretty much completely full. I found better deals over in the laptops for GPUs. At least with that purchase you get a whole computer.

The only problem I’ve come across with Mullvad is that it’s so tight that I can’t even access the internet at work on that browser lol

Now, I could be wrong because I’m still new to all of this, but I believe OP is wishing there was an app for kbin, another reddit-like fediverse alternative. This means Jerboa and Mlem wouldn’t work for kbin.

I created an account on Lemmy.ml but wanted to switch to kbin after reading some problematic things about the developers. No idea if they are true, just didn’t want to deal with it. Besides, I can access the same instances through an account on kbin.

When I first played the game (played on PC with keyboard and mouse), I thought, “wow, you actually have to pay attention to the terrain” and found myself falling over at times. The more you play and the more you deliver, Sam gets stronger and is able to maintain balance more often. I honestly don’t even look at the scanned terrain anymore, except when I’m checking how deep water is. Making sure Sam is “bracing” by holding those buttons down, you’re more than likely going to be fine unless you have a massive stack and you’re overloaded. On keyboard and mouse you just hold Mouse1 and Mouse2, which I think is much easier than controller triggers.

Another thing that likely made it a little easier on PC was the movement speed setting. I can press Shift and I’m stuck at a walking speed that I have set in the settings menu (since keyboards don’t have pressure sensitive movement).

I loved Death Stranding as a whole. There’s some QOL things I think that could be improved upon in DS2, but the overall gameplay loop was satisfying. Heck, I still find myself making deliveries after completing the game just to relax and unlock even more stuff. I recently just got a backpack cover after 70 hours?? I didn’t even know it was in the game. Incredible, lol
