Sometimes it feels like the term male privilege is just a way to tell men to suck it up, don’t cry, keep your feelings bottle up on the inside. Meanwhile, hypocritically being against toxic masculinity.

Maybe you’re just too focused on a single way of categorising people
I’m sure all the male homicide victims would be really glad they weren’t killed by women because then they would have lost their privilege…
I really hate this reasoning I see sometimes that because men hurt other men we don’t need to care about those victims. We can just dismiss them and assume they still have all their male privilege because a smaller number of women are also victims. How about we stop framing all this stuff as men vs women and who has it better and instead focus on the actual problems and the actual victims regardless of their gender expression?

In some cases yes, in others no. I mean it would satisfy some needs of creativity, community and obviously specific software needs. Sometimes, people can also earn money from donations. But, mostly there’s not enough monetary gain to satisfy the needs of food and housing.
I find it crazy how many people here are making it sound like it’s torture to use Windows. I get that they prefer Linux, but for many it seems like it goes way beyond normal preference to something that’s a core part of their identiny.
I use it in Firefox. I think I had to make some cookie exceptions or something like that to make it work, but it’s functional. Still buggy, but Teams has always been buggy for me no matter the platform.

You may want to look at Jump Space

I think you must be confusing things or were told a lie. Bluetooth is a standard that is definitely not designed to be able to work like that. NFC is designed to work with thin tags that don’t have a battery. Essentially they get power wirelessly from your phone in order to be able to send information. But, due to the inverse square law, you would need extreme amounts of power to be able to do that over a long range, so it just isn’t something that could work with mobile phones.

We accepted control at expense of convenience
I would have thought it would be more accurate to say we accepted convenience at the expense of privacy and security…

So removing an option is somehow increasing choices?

I’m confused… There’s an Android Auto WiFi that’s available while you’re driving around?

I think the ideal is that it would be a conscious decision to donate more to software that needs more work. It definitely wouldn’t be good to encourage poor usability that creates more usage time. (That’s how we ended up with terribly written recipes all over the internet that make you scroll for ages before you get to the useful information)
Hmm, OK. Guess I’ll probably have to switch soon then
RiMusic is still working fine for me
I think the be careful what you do on Facebook is implied. He’s highlighting something that’s less expected, where you may need to be careful what you do on Windows systems.
I guess most methods of attack on a FOSS projects are independent of the country of origin. But, I could still see them being forced to do things they don’t want in the US, without being able to tell anyone. Hopefully if that ever happened it wouldn’t be too hard to detect, but you never know.
People gotta earn money to survive, I don’t blame the employees for this. And this is not just a case of Meta’s privacy being bad. This is close government involvement with potentially serious impacts and implications across all US based platforms.
It’s not “USA bad, so product bad”, it’s the concern that the US government can do a lot more to US based projects and you probably wont know untill it’s too late.
When I was young I pirated because I didn’t have an income and couldn’t pay. Now I pirate because I don’t want to give any money to terrible companies.
There was a period in the middle where I didn’t pirate anything, but that’s beside the point.
