I think people don’t talk about religion enough, because I find it criminally irresponsible that we allow (and that’s an understatement) religious people in positions of power. Decisions affecting the future of humanity and the planet are being made by irrational individuals and we’re acting as if there’s nothing wrong with that.

Lived in Germany for years and had all of these. Love mettbrötchen, krustenbraten etc etc. BUT. I believe Germans don’t prioritize food. They will eat any cheap shit and save the money for beer. In the office a bunch of people - mainly foreigners - got together and arranged for a restaurant to be bringing food every day for a relatively cheap price. It was great. But most Germans would still prefer to go to Lidl and eat canned pasta for lunch. It’s not that they couldn’t afford it. They just didn’t want to spend €8 for food every day. Canned pasta and Birckenstock with white socks dude. Every day.

I believe that men, women and all other genders that people are constructing these days - whether real or fabricated, zero fucks - should be treated equally in the eyes of the law, they should have equal pay, should be given the same opportunities and should be treated with equal respect. If that makes me a feminist, then cool.

I also believe that the reason the term gets a bad rap sometimes is because of the general stage humanity finds itself in. Consider this, for hundreds and hundreds of years men had the upper hand and only very recently did we start this process of equalizing women.

I imagine society like a car going down the road, when you lose control in a turn, the knee-jerk reaction is to steer the other direction and for a brief moment there you’re going way over to the other side before eventually correcting/ normalizing your course. Imho this is what happens with every new concept that gets introduced, there’s an overreach before normality ensues.

It’s even more pronounced with LGBTQ people. They were hidden, non existent in the eyes of society, and now we’re at the parade stage. My prediction is that soon there will be no need for it.

The other day we went to the gym with a friend and afterwards he said let’s go eat at the food court. We each got stuff from different restaurants and he got his first, so he went to get a table while I was waiting for my food. As soon as he sat down he started eating so 3 minutes later when I got there he’d finished half his meal. I didn’t appreciate that because the whole point was to have a chill chat whereas now he was done and I felt like I had to rush because I was wasting his time with my tardiness.

I see you guys are taking this way too seriously so ok… I’m not invalidating anything, and for that matter I haven’t noticed any such trend in media either. In fact, I would go as far as to say that attributing “normal” behaviors to ADHD and autism is ultimately what invalidates these conditions. My initial comment stemmed from me seeing meme after meme about ADHD and being like, wait I’m like that too, maybe I have it. But then as this trend goes on I observed that most of the people I know also have - to some degree - most symptoms mentioned in said memes. In short I bet if one were to base the description of ADHD on the memes going round, most people could get a positive diagnosis. My personal opinion is that this has to do with societal expectations when it comes to education and employment as they have developed over the last couple of decades. We are slowly recognizing that our capitalist way of life with its pursuit of infinitely increasing productivity is not in line with human nature thus we’re “creating” this condition that somehow everyone is suffering from to attribute feelings of inadequacy.
