After 30mins of inactivity my account locks and my screens blank. Few seconds after that my monitors go to standby. That’s it. I never shutdown unless something necessitates it and I only really reboot for updates if they require it. My PC basically stays on 24/7 and I’ve never had any issues. Current build has parts all the way back from 2015/2016 with no failures to speak of.

In my little slice of hell summer means it’s low to mid 90’s everyday with 60%+ humidity and it rains every fucking afternoon. You can’t go outside for more than 5mins without sweating profusely. It’s kinda ass.
I dicked around with the VM route for a while and could never really get it working 100% to my liking. There was always a trade-off. I ended up just getting a second PC and tucking it in a cabinet out of sight. When I need Windows I just use remote desktop to connect to it.

Mozilla has to generate enough revenue to continue developing their products somehow. It would be nice if donations were enough to cover those development costs but that simply isn’t the case. Because of this the ad networks are a necessary “evil”.

I just recently had a wfh user ship me one of his monitors back because we had exhausted every thing I could think of troubleshooting-wise. When it arrived I unboxed it, plugged it in and the damn thing worked fine. I followed up with him and finally realized he had been trying to push the damn power LED instead of the actual power button.
Ok, but anyone with a monster energy tattoo needs to be bonked on the head. It’s 2024 for crying out loud! I thought we were passed this!
I have a core i3 system with a PCIe SAS controller and 8x 8TB drives in RAID 6. It currently hosts my Jellyfin library, Immich library, and is also my primary fileserver for the LAN. I actually just moved my old 4x 5TB array from that machine over to my primary desktop to hold my Steam library. Pretty good setup if you like to tinker around with stuff.
I believe they created it before tap really took off in the US so scan was a better option for them at the time.
It’s scan to pay at Walmart because they gave their own payment system called “Walmart pay” and it sucks.
