Great software! And it keeps improving.
What are the benefits of this over the 1st party application?
This is the way.
I use the app daily, and I like it overall. It syncs well with my selfhosted freshrss server, and it works across platforms. HOWEVER, I do wish that I could manage my subscriptions with it, and having to set how each feed opens by default is rage inducing. In GNOME it would be able to be docked like other apps. And there is an arbitrary gigantic margin in some modes. etc etc.
If you haven’t tried it, I absolutely love FeedMe on android it works 1000 times better than Fluent Reader with FreshRSS. I wish it was ported to Debian!
Yes it does 😀
I’m running 4 Seagate exos 10tba sas3 drives. They’re fast, quiet, and don’t use a ton of power.
Now you can get 14 and 16tb drives now for the same price.
Honestly, at this point, I’d rather sell the SAS drives and go back to SATA. I don’t need an insane amount of storage, and the controller adds power usage.
There’s an app called scrutiny that does exactly what you are looking for
You can start with the Dig Uno if you want expandability, or you could get a dig2go and just use a usb-c power supply
Look at Quinled DIG series. They are the best ESP based controllers.
Hi I’m currently running a supermicro x10sdv-4c-7tp4f with a Quadro 2k and an lsi SAS card. This system works really well. I really like having ipmi, but the system uses more power than I’d like. If I were doing it again, I’d get an i3 with an igpu,. This would eliminate the need for a GPU for transcoding and face recognition. Supermicro and ASRock rack make good boards with 10g and ipmi.
In my homelab I have two main servers
Esxi: Opnsense VM –Running Wireguard VPN Docker VM –Vaultwarden –Portainer –FreshRSS –Heimdall Dashboard –SponsorBlockCast –Portainer Agent Home Assistant VM –Node Red –Frigate –DoubleTake –zigbee2mqtt –Mosquitto –ESPHome SecureVM –NGINX Proxy Manager –Portainer Agent
Ubuntu Media Server 40tb zfs Running Docker: –Scrutiny –Plex –YTDL Material –Lidarr –Radarr –Bazarr –Sonarr –Sabnzbd –Compfreface –Portainer Agent Cockpit
I too have found node-red much faster to learn, and easier to debug than using the built in HA automations and scripts. I can also keep things very organized with different flows (the tabs at the top) and lots of commenting (the white boxes you see.)
Nginx proxy manager made it pretty easy.
