Hello! More players than ever are choosing to play Steam games with a controller, and we thought it would be a good time to share some stats about controller usage on Steam along with an update about Steam Input. Stats: Controller use on Steam Since 2018, daily average controller use has tripled from ~5% to up to 15% ~42% of these controller sessions are using Steam Input During that time, the controller landscape has changed: 59% of sessions are using Xbox controllers 26% are using PlayStation...

    Are other controllers registering as xbox controllers are do people really use them that much?

      Xbox controllers work with windows with pretty much zero configuration. Either use USB or the appropriate receiver dongle. This probably contributes a lot to it’s popularity.

      Also the older and newer style controllers likely all just report as Xbox controllers and the wired 360 controllers are dirt cheap

        They work on some Linux distros with zero configuration as well. Mint being one of those.

        (This is through bluetooth that I’m speaking of.)

            My bad, on the fly currency conversion error 😁. Best under $150-200 is more accurate.

      Based on the fact that they’re by far the best controllers for pc under $150-200, I’d say 59% ACTUAL Xbox controllers is plausible.
