20th century engineers: The worst thing I can possibly imagine is this cable getting disconnected. I would rather the entire thing get ripped apart or pulled off the shelf. Two screws, so it stays tight during combat.
D-sub connectors still work fine if you don’t screw them in. They were also used in industrial applications where you really didn’t want them getting disconnected though.
