Why has this become a thing over the past year or two? Some services seem worse than others. I’ll expect the next episode to start playing, but no, there’s still 2mins left of the episode of just titles in different languages.

Only for the Chromecast connection between my phone getting lost and having to fanny about quitting the app to get it to work again.

The people who did the dubbing for other languages deserve to be credited, and there’s only the one video to go with all the different audio tracks. A “Next Episode” button will usually show up before the credits get to that part anyway, so if you’re sticking around that’s a you problem.

I guess I’m just being lazy in not fishing my phone out to then move it onto the next episode, expecting it to roll over any second like it used to. Then I’ll wait expecting it to change any second, and repeat.

I think Netflix still does this but there’s a couple of others that show the titles each episode.

Don’t worry. When AI does all the TV shows for you, then there will not be a need for crediting human labor. You’ll get to all 78 seasons of Ow, my balls! One after the other. Don’t worry about 80% of the screen being covered in ads, it won’t cause seizures to most people.

it’s become a thing because you keep paying them more for shittier and shittier services

continue paying, and you will continue to get less.
