I’ve been revisiting anno 2205, infamously the ugly duckling of the Anno series of RTS games. I don’t mind so much the fact that it’s different, lacks customisation and random map generation - I’m bothered because the game is so slow to progress through on challenge settings, and it feels like a game designed just to artificially waste your time; in other anno games, you can always pull tricks to dig yourself out of economic crisis - selling off assets and surplus goods, completing quests for other parties, or taking loans. 2205 is very very confined in terms of what you can do to financially recover in the early game and forces you into a lot of military events.

I always dislike The Witcher 3. As many times as I tried to like it as many reviews as I read that it was amazing. Dear God the controls sucked and I hated that game. No matter how many times I try it.

I found the core game to be… okay. I wound up with far too many ways to deal damage than I needed, nevermind the enormous stockpile of potions and other things that I carried around. But the challenge was never completely where I wanted or expected it to be.

Meanwhile I’m like one of 15 people in the world that hate playing gwent.

Edit: I only learned recently that you’re supposed to collect all the good cards before playing gwent. As someone that loathes pay-to-win-CCGs, I find myself disliking it even more now. Even though it’s just in-game, the concept of having to collect playing cards just isn’t fun to me.

I completely agree with the horrible controls. That’s why I stopped playing it. But in fairness I was on the PS4, not PC. And had just finished a play through of Red Dead Redemption 2, which has some of the best controls I’ve ever experienced on a console. (Except when you accidentally punch your horse instead of mounting it)

Man I first tried seriously to get into Witcher 3 after playing MGS5 and it was like being dropped into janky molasses. Don’t get me wrong, MGS5 has an awful story, obviously unfinished, but boy is it fun to play.

I 100% agree, i can not stand the controls in Witcher 3. I’ve tried 3 separate times to get into it and it just feels so awful to play.
